As part of the agency’s yuletide corporate celebration, the Quedan and Rural Credit Guarantee Corporation (QUEDANCOR) recently held a Christmas Lantern (parol) making contest involving the participation of employees and departments assigned at the Central Office.
Using indigenous and recycled materials, the contestants interpreted the message of the QUEDANCOR Corporate Christmas Affair which is “Nagkakaisang Pamilya, Nagkakaisang QUEDANCOR”. Pouring their innate skills and aesthetic representation, the various groups have come up with their own special and uniquely-designed Christmas lanterns.
Getting the top prize for the lantern competition is the entry from the National Capital Region (NCR) Office, which is a woven five-sided lantern adorned with lights and colorful threading. Coming up second is the lantern from the Operations Department (OpD) which is a traditional Filipino lantern designed with recycled QUEDANCOR brochures and adorned with wooden sticks. Rounding up the list is the entry from the Accounting and Budget Department (ABD), which finished third with their intricately-designed Paper Mache lantern which was carefully made through several layers of recycled paper.
Other entries which received special consolation prizes were from the Finance Cluster, Planning Services Office and Information Technology Department, Office of the President and Administrative Services Department.
The winners were awarded during the QUEDANCOR Year-End Affair program held at the Multi-Purpose Hall at the Central Office.
With the successful staging of the Christmas Lantern contest, QUEDANCOR management is looking forward at similar activities which will ubiquitously display the innate skills and talents of the Corporation’s personnel.
